Our Theme:"A Rising Tide for Life"

Maryland Right to Life Convention 2026 Theme: 

“A Rising Tide for Life” comes from the idea that a rising tide lifts all boats. It conveys hope, unity, and momentum. Here are some reasons why “A Rising Tide for Life” is a fitting 2026 theme:

1. The theme implies action

A rising tide suggests a movement that is active, growing, and cannot be ignored. It signals that the pro-life movement in Maryland is not dead or stagnant, but alive, energized, and moving forward. The Maryland Right to Life Convention will help to usher in a sea of change for our state.

2. The theme is a call for unity

The Maryland Right to Life Convention aims to amplify the work of pro-life citizens across our state. We will bring together a wide array of advocates and groups to participate– right-to-life chapters, student activists, pastors and clergy, pregnancy help centers, political candidates, sidewalk counselors, elected officials, church ministries, social media influencers, and more. We want the event to be appealing, meaningful, and inclusive for people of different ages, faiths, races, and political persuasions. 

The Convention is an opportunity for every Marylander concerned about the protection of human life to come together in a spirit of unity. We are stronger together. We should no longer allow division, infighting, or past disagreements to inhibit our movement’s future. The Convention provides a chance to discover (or rediscover) what unites us, set aside what divides us, and forge a path forward.

3. The theme and logo frame the mission positively

Rather than centering on what we oppose, the theme focuses on what we stand for: Protecting life. The overall tone of the Convention will be positive, upbeat, and hopeful.

The Convention logo is in the shape of a heart– a symbol of life and a symbol of love. The logo features a mother AND her child, reinforcing that we care about both of their lives. We love them BOTH. The logo also incorporates the sun, a source of warmth and energy and another symbol for life. The sun conveys that we stand for life throughout its cycle of existence, from its earliest moments, its rise, and until its sunset, or natural conclusion. 

4. The theme focuses on growth and the future

A rising tide suggests incremental growth and projects our confidence in the future. It reminds us that our individual work is part of something larger—a movement that continues to rise even if individual waves feel small. The changing tide doesn't come in one wave – it builds over time. We are touching hearts, changing minds, and saving lives. Sometimes one person at a time. But with each wave, we rise.
